In recent years, Round Mountain has been the most prolific producers of fine gold specimens in the world. The variety of habits, crystal forms, and aesthetics is mind boggling. Of the thousands of specimens that came out, only a very small percentage came with matrix. This specmen is a classic quartz/adularia vein with leaf gold at the center. The main leaf is nearly 8 cm tall, has great gold color and good luster. There are small crystal growths along the edges. Specimens like this are rapidly becoming classics due to the fact that the mine stopped producing specimens 3 years ago. It is unlikely any new specimens will see the market.
