piece has more distinct fluorapatites perched on pyritohedrons of pyrite
and a few galenas. Many of the apatites are zoned with a distinct
line down the center of the crystal. The zoning can be seen in both
natural and ultraviolet light.

These
lustrous, bladed crystals grew on pyrite which broke off during
mining. It is an unusual occurrence for the mines of Peru, and only
a limited amount of this material made it to the market. Tungsten is
not an abundant element it the replacement deposits of the high
Andes. These
hubnerites were mined about 2 years ago.
